On Sunday we started shooting our media film from the beginning. We decided to shoot the build up to the conversation between the two main characters over msn, meaning that we would only need Amy for this shoot.
We started shooting around 3 O'clock, so to be realistic as this would be around the time that the school girl would be returning home.
Concerning costume, we dressed Amy in Heathside Uniform and tied her hair back, however, she looked a little messy as it was the end of the day.
The first shot we needed was a continuing shot of the school girl walking along an extremely long road, from an extreme long shot to a medium/close-up. When editing this we will cut it at sections so she gradually appears closer, so as to add a creepy feel to our thriller.
We tested different angles for her walk home. As the school girl turns a corner, we shot from a long distance with a poster of a missing girl poster stuck on a lamp post in the foreground. We are hoping to edit this so that the focus at this point is on the poster with the girl slightly blurred. However, this shot will only be short, so as only to suggest that something may happen later on, not giving too much away.
When Amy gets to the door, we shot an extreme close-up of her hand as she turns the key in the door and whilst she lets herself in. At this point she slams the front door, this forceful noise is used to speed up the next section as it symbolises that now she is home, she is in a 'routine'.
We then shot a low angle shot as Amy removes her blazer in the hall, kicks off her shoes, puts her keys and bag down. Furthermore, we also shot a close-up of her throwing her keys on the side as if at this point she has control. She is in her own home, she thinks she knows who she is talking too later over msn, when she actually is an extremely vulnerable and naive character.
We placed the camera and stand on the island in the kitchen, to film as the school girl walks through the kitchen and turns on the kettle. This part of the film is all a build up to the talk, it is as though she does this everyday and she is used to this lifestyle.
We shot from inside a cupboard when Amy gets a mug out, it starts with a blackout and then you see her appear and close the door on the audience, this is effective as it is rather abstract and again shows her supposed control.
Finally we shot a low angle shot across the surface of the kitchen top, of Amy placing her mug on the side and walking away, supposedly towards the computer when the story unravels.
